The BEST Sled Riding Spots in Columbus

I was beginning to wonder if we were EVER going to get snow in Columbus this season?  Even thought it was just a little dusting I’ll take this as our first official snow fall.  I did enjoy the warm weather but part of me is glad the powdery beauty has arrived (as long as it doesn’t stay until April!).  Now that the snow is here everyone wants to know the BEST sledding locations in Columbus.  Grab your toboggan, sled, saucer or whatever you can find and hit the hills!

Sled Riding

Suburbs:

Scioto Park in Dublin (7:30 am until dusk)

Ballentrae Bunny Park in Dublin

Fryer Park in Grove City

Glen Oak Park in Lewis Center

Sycamore Creek Park in Pickerington

Metroparks:

Battelle Darby Creek: Read my blog post HERE

Highbanks in the big Meadows Picnic Area (one hill is for 10 and younger).

Sharon Woods has two sledding hills with one bunny hill for the younger ones.  Entrance is north of the main park entrance.

Other Spots:

Gallant Woods Preserve in Delaware, Ohio.

Snow Tubing at Mad River Mountain.  Check hours of Operation: HERE

Also, don’t forget about the outdoor ice skating in Dublin at Coffman Park.  When temperatures are below freezing for several days in a row then the ice skating rink opens.  Check their website for hours.

Be safe and have fun sledding!
